Liu Yang, female, from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, was the first female astronaut in China.

Liu Yang, born on1October 6th, 1978, is 40 years old. Graduated from Air Force Changchun Flying Academy.

Liu Yang was good at volleyball and middle and long distance running at school, and he had excellent endurance. I have a wide range of interests after military training.

He joined the army in August 20001997, joined the party in May 200010, and officially became the second batch of astronauts in China in May 20 10, code 03, mainly responsible for the management of aerospace medical experiments. After more than two years of astronaut training, he has completed the training tasks of dozens of subjects in eight categories, such as basic theory, aerospace environmental adaptability, aerospace professional technology, flight procedures and mission simulation training, and passed the comprehensive assessment of astronaut professional technology with excellent results.

20 12 was selected as the flight crew of Shenzhou-9 mission in March. On June 20 1212, the media reported that Liu Yang and Wang Yaping from Yantai, Shandong Province had become popular candidates for the first batch of female astronauts in China.

On the afternoon of June 2012 15, China Manned Space Engineering Command announced that male astronauts Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang and female astronaut Liu Yang would form a flight crew to carry out the manned rendezvous and docking mission between Shenzhou-9 and Tiangong-1. Liu Yang mainly monitors and supports manual rendezvous and docking. In addition, during the flight of 13 days, Liu Yang also conducted scientific experiments.
