This morning, JD.COM UAV took off from the distribution point in Changliu Town, Haikou City, carrying goods, and successfully delivered the first order. This means that the first UAV distribution station, which was put into trial operation by Jingdong Logistics and JD.COM X Division, was officially opened. "Through the distribution test of the full-scene terminal drone in Hainan, it will lay the foundation for the establishment of future drone logistics standards and larger-scale applications." Liu, general manager of UAV Operation Center of X Division of JD.COM Group, said.
Wang Yu, director of logistics planning department of Jingdong Logistics South China Branch, revealed the relevant planning of this Hainan pilot. JD.COM UAV will take Haikou as the starting point, further open UAV operation sites in Danzhou, Qiongzhong and Baoting, and gradually spread them to the whole island, and even realize cross-sea delivery. JD.COM plans to explore an effective logistics and distribution scheme of unmanned aerial vehicles suitable for Hainan Province and even coastal areas through this pilot project.
According to reports, Hainan's unique terrain and provincial conditions have built a complete scene for the logistics and distribution of drones, especially terminal drones. In scene exploration, based on Hainan's rich terrain, JD.COM UAV can simultaneously carry out three-dimensional tests of remote areas, cross-island logistics, border posts, emergency rescue and other scenes; In the application mode, combined with local actual demand, JD.COM UAV can try and accumulate in daily order delivery, precision poverty alleviation, integration of defense and civilian technologies technology and other aspects.
At the beginning of this year, Liu, Chairman and CEO of the Board of Directors, said at the Davos Forum that tens of thousands of UAV airports would be built nationwide, and all goods could be delivered to consumers within 24 hours. In February this year, Xiao Jun, vice president of JD.COM Group and president of X Division, also introduced that JD.COM will deploy thousands of cargo planes, medium and large logistics drones, tens of thousands of smart airports and docks throughout the country, so as to achieve comprehensive coverage of most county-level administrative regions and villages in the country.
Previously, JD.COM UAV had achieved normal operation in more than 30 villages in Jiangsu Suqian, Xi 'an and Shaanxi Hancheng, and was approved to carry out the "national pilot" of UAV logistics and distribution in Shaanxi in February this year.
