Incorporate natural elements into works.
Shen Tong studied painting since childhood. Although he is only 9 years old, his works have been exhibited in "Journey of Exploration-Dream of Central Europe" Youth Art Exhibition and "Sino-Japanese Paper Tape+Handkerchief Design Exhibition", and appeared in Shenzhen Design Week on 20 19. She studied paper-cutting with Yuan Manjun, the representative inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage "Yuan's paper-cutting". These paper-cut works were exhibited in "Past, Present and Future-Futian District Intangible Cultural Heritage Paper-cut Exhibition" and also appeared in the 17th ICIF this year.
The "Natural Growth-Shen Tong's Personal Exhibition" held this time is Shen Tong's first personal exhibition. When talking about the theme of the exhibition "Natural Growth", Zhuo Mingda, academic director of the exhibition and dean of Chao Xiaoyan, explained that there are two meanings: first, the works of this exhibition are inspired by nature, and the plants, animals, bottles, bowls, chopsticks and plates in the painting are all from the elements in our life and environment. The second meaning of "natural growth" implies the growth process of Shentong. Zhuo Mingda told reporters that Shen Tong likes nature, participates in nature summer camp whenever she has time, lives in a coffee farm with her mother, and lives a free life, walking bricks, dogs, ducks, bells, picking fruits, arranging flowers, drawing, growing coffee and picking mushrooms, so many of her artistic creations are related to nature.
Shentong Paper-cut "Zodiac"
"Occasionally, a huge bold black bar appears in her works, which is ambiguous but full of modernity." Liang Juanwei, curator and dean of Chao Xiaoyan, for example, said that in the oil painting "Ruyi Golden Hoop", the Monkey King hid behind the black bar, revealing half his face; In the acrylic painting "Travel", the gorgeous natural scenery is also covered by this black bar.
"Looking at Shen Tong's works, I can feel that her heart is wild. She is a real' son of nature'. " Liang Juanwei said that children who grew up in the city are more likely to draw works with a sense of science and technology and style, while children who grew up in the natural environment have more impact on artistic creation.
Shentong's "Biangbiang Noodles"
The 40-meter scroll shows the collision between Chinese and western art
The reporter saw at the scene that the 40-meter scroll placed in the center of the exhibition hall was shocking and eye-catching. "This is the origin of this exhibition." Wu Xiaoyan and Dong Jianguo, the artistic enlighteners of Shen Tong and the founders of Xiaoyan Painting Academy, told reporters that since 20 19, Shen Tong has tried to paint on a roll of 100 meter rice paper in the form of ink and wash, once a day to record his daily life for more than two years.
This exhibition is re-created with a long ink scroll "One Day" as the origin, which shows the different interpretations and collisions between Chinese and Western artistic languages on the same motif. The oil painting Biangbiang Noodles has changed from a simple sketch in daily painting to a large-scale oil painting full of post-modern significance. The biangbiang surface imagined by Shentong is full of natural ecological elements and consists of birds, snakes, mountains and rivers.
40-meter-long scrolls and large paper carving devices at the exhibition site.
Another large-scale work at the exhibition site is a large-scale paper carving installation "Birds Gather in Scales". The lifelike bird broke free from the paper carving forest on the wall and spread its wings to fly in the air of the exhibition hall. This work was jointly completed by Shen Tong and Ma Yan, a teacher of Xiaoyan Painting Academy. Every feather of a bird was cut by Shentong with paper. Ma Yan told reporters that at first, I just wanted to make a bird's flight path and then make it into an animated work. After six months of continuous modification, it has become a large-scale device for birds to fly today.
40-meter scroll at the exhibition site
At the exhibition site, many viewers marveled at the exquisiteness and imagination of this work, and praised it as "very rhythmic and rhythmic, even the change of a piece of paper is so subtle."
The paper-cut work "Chinese Zodiac" not only reveals the paper carving installation "Birds Gather in Scales and Extract", but also reveals strong traditional artistic elements. The composition and interest make the audience praise Shentong in succession.
