Gulei Town is located in Gu Lei Peninsula at the southern tip of Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It faces the sea on three sides and is connected with Beiban Village in Du Xun Town on the north. The jurisdiction covers the whole Gu Lei Peninsula and its adjacent waters, islands and reefs. The north-south trend of the peninsula extends to the sea in a strip shape with a length of 17? 3 kilometers, 3 ~ 4 kilometers wide from east to west (only 300 meters at the narrowest point), covering an area of 40 square kilometers. Most of them are beaches, sand dunes and sandy land. In the south, there are Pangjianshan Mountain (78 meters above sea level), North Peak of Gulei Mountain (also known as Daiziling, 270 meters above sea level), Bijiashan Mountain (0/99 meters above sea level) and South Peak of Gulei Mountain (also known as Xiaxia? Ridge, elevation 100 m), Guleitou Mountain (elevation 149 m). Gulei Mountain is the reason why Gu Lei got its name. According to the records of the old county annals, the original Gulei Mountain beat the drums on Leishan Mountain, which was named after "when the tide came, it sounded like a drum thunder". There is another saying, too, because Gulei Mountain stands high on the seashore and looks like a snail, so it is called a high snail and elegant as Gu Lei.
Gulei Town is located in the southeast of Zhangpu County, bordering Fu Tou Bay and Taiwan Province Strait in the east and Dongshan Bay in the west. Facing Dongshan County and Yunxiao County, the town governs 13 administrative villages, with a population of 33,000, a total land area of 40 square kilometers, a sea area of 230,000 mu, a coastline of 24 kilometers and a tidal flat area of more than 60,000 mu.
Gu Lei Port Area is one of the eight rare natural deep-water ports in China, with a coastline of 4.6 kilometers and a natural water depth of 20 to 30 meters. It can build 32 berths of 1 10,000-200,000-ton class, with good shelter from the wind and no siltation all the year round. Du Xun Town has a hinterland of 30,000 mu, with sufficient fresh water supply and developed land and water transportation. The Dugu Line Shugang Expressway has been completed and opened to traffic, which makes Gu Lei Port Area connected with provincial and provincial highways.
