Lao She (1899-1966), formerly known as Shu Qingchun, took his pen name Lao She. China Manchu, a famous modern novelist, writer and dramatist, is called "people's artist". 1948 sang Huangmei Opera and was praised by Yan Fengying. Due to persecution during the Cultural Revolution, Lao She died late at night on August 24th, 1966 at the age of 67.
