Edgar snow (1905- 1972) is an American journalist. /kloc-0 came to China in September, 1928, and served as a special correspondent for Shanghai Miller Review, and then taught in northern yenching university. He is a close friend of Soong Ching Ling. /kloc-in the summer of 0/936, with the contact and help of Soong Ching Ling, he and George Heidem (that is, Dr. Ma), who is practicing medicine in Shanghai, went to the Soviet area in northern Shaanxi via Ann. The following year, he wrote the world-famous masterpiece Red Star Shines on China (translated in Chinese as Red Star Shines on China). He enthusiastically supported China people's liberation, publicized and introduced China people's revolution and construction to the whole world for a long time, and enhanced people's understanding of China in western countries. 1970, he and his wife Louis Wheeler visited China for the last time. They were invited to board Tiananmen Gate and stand beside President Mao Zedong to watch the National Day military parade on 10/day. At that time, American and European newspapers generally attached importance to his meeting with Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. He died in Geneva on February 1972. According to his will, some of his ashes were buried beside the unnamed lake in Peking University. His works include Far East Frontline, Burning Earth, Fighting for Asia, China Resistance, Journey to the Starting Point, Across the River, Long Revolution, etc.
