Luolong District is the administrative center, commercial center and cultural and sports center of Luoyang. Originally a suburb of Luoyang, it was renamed as Luolong District with the approval of the State Council in 2000, with a total area of about 1.80 square kilometers and a permanent population of about 400,000.
