Beijing No.4 School for the Deaf is the only school for the deaf in Beijing that includes nine-year compulsory education, vocational high schools and ordinary high schools. The goal of the school is to deliver disabled people with high language ability and promising talents with secondary cultural education and vocational skills training to the society. In order to make deaf students master more scientific and cultural knowledge and become self-reliant, disabled and promising workers, Beijing No.4 School for the Deaf boldly carried out teaching reform practice, which not only opened vocational high schools for the deaf, but also opened ordinary high schools for the deaf, broadening the channels for deaf students to pursue further studies and obtain employment. The school's vocational education department has three majors: computer foundation and application, practical art, and clothing cutting. According to the physiological characteristics of deaf students, the teaching of the above specialized courses pays more attention to the cultivation of practical operation ability.
