Dong Jianwu, 189 1, a native of Qingpu County, Shanghai. He was educated in a missionary school since he was a child. /kloc-was admitted to the famous St. John's University in Shanghai at the age of 0/8. After graduation, he studied theology for two years and became a formal priest. Being familiar with teachings, smart and capable, and fluent in English and Latin, he was quickly promoted to be the presiding pastor of the famous St. Peter's Church in Shanghai. He has a strong sense of justice and patriotism. Under the guidance of the thought that only * * * can save China, the China Revolution is in the most difficult moment. 1927, Liu Bojian and Puhua introduced him to join China.
In view of his status as a priest, the CPC Central Committee arranged for him to participate in the work of the Central Special Branch. Therefore, St. Peter's Church has become a very secret contact point in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. An upright red priest, under the direct leadership of Chen Geng, head of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, scouted the enemy, covered comrades and executed traitors. After many setbacks, he successfully completed every task assigned to him by the party organization.
1929 At the end of the year, under the auspices of Li, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made a decision to set up a kindergarten in Shanghai to take care of the martyrs' orphans and some party children in Shanghai. The task fell to Dong Jianwu. The organization can only give him 500 yuan for the start-up expenses, which is obviously far from enough. While collecting money for his parishioners, he asked people to sell dozens of acres of ancestral land in Qingpu County to make up the money. 1March, 930, he officially opened the first kindergarten led by our party, named "Datong Kindergarten", which means "One World". In order not to attract the attention of the enemy, the kindergarten was organized in the name of the China Revolutionary Mutual Aid Association, the party's peripheral organization.
Dong Jianwu personally served as the kindergarten director, and Wang Bi, the head of the National Mutual Aid Association and a member of the underground party of the Communist Party of China, served as a consultant (later replaced by Tan Xiaoying). There are six or seven nurses, most of whom are underground party member or their families. The director of the nurse is Chen Fengxian (also known as Qin Yijun, wife of party member Li Qiushi), who used to be a nurse in Hongkou Fumin Hospital. These nurses include Li's wife (pseudonym), Dong Jianwu's wife Zheng Lanfang, Zhu's daughter-in-law and underground party member Tao Xiqi. Mao and Mao Anqing, Cai Hesen's daughter Cai Zhuan, Yun's son Yun, Peng Xiaopai's son (nickname), Yang Yin's son XX, Wang Bi's daughter XX, and Li's two daughters Li Jing (nicknamed pigeon at that time, also called drunken wretched) and Li.
1931April 24th, Alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Gu, the chief of the Central Special Branch, defected in Wuhan. Later, Dong Jianwu received a threatening letter, warning him not to take in children of unknown origin, or he would be punished for supporting communist party. The concession authorities also sent patrol officers to inquire about the source of funds for kindergartens, the resumes of staff and the parents of children. Although the kindergarten was under the cover of the church, St. Peter's church became the target of the enemy's attention. Dong Jianwu has been working under Gu for a long time and has been unable to make public appearances. 1March, 932, Nurse Guan (also known as Gui) went out on business, suddenly disappeared, and the search was ineffective. In this grim situation, Tan Xiaoying, who is in charge of Datong Kindergarten by China Revolutionary Mutual Aid Association, and underground party member sent some children from Datong Kindergarten to Zheng Lanfang, the nurse of Dong Jianwu's wife, to raise them. Half a year later, they moved to the residence of Dong Huiguang, the ex-wife of Dong Jianwu, at No.541Fengyang Road, and were sent to study in the Soviet Union until 1936. Datong kindergarten, which lasted for two years, is like a red cradle under the shadow of white terror, protecting and nurturing the children of the party and revolutionary martyrs. These revolutionary descendants later grew up under the cultivation of the party and made their own contributions to the revolutionary cause in different posts.
1936, Dong Jianwu was entrusted by Soong Ching Ling to go to northern Shaanxi twice, completing the important mission of "building a bridge of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party again" (in Soong Ching Ling's language) and escorting Ma and edgar snow to the Soviet area in northern Shaanxi. For a long time, he used his special status as a priest to accomplish his task brilliantly, and he was a "red priest" on the hidden front in Shanghai in the 1930s. The name "Red Priest" is also famous at home and abroad with Si Nuo's Red Star Shines on China.
