Master Fan (1943.05~), a native of Jintan, Jiangsu. 1962 graduated from China Academy of Fine Arts and studied under Mr. Gu Bokui, Pan Tianshou and Lu. Member of China Artists Association, member of China Calligraphers Association, vice president of Jiangsu Flower and Bird Painting Research Association, chairman of Changzhou Artists Association, vice chairman of Changzhou Calligraphers Association, president of Jinsha Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and national first-class artist. His works have been selected for many large calligraphy exhibitions at home and abroad, published in Calligraphy magazine, People's Daily and Hong Wen Wei Po, or included in Panorama of Contemporary Calligraphy in China and Collection of Contemporary Works in China. He also paints Chinese paintings, especially chickens. People's Fine Arts Publishing House published a special collection of Master Fan's paintings and calligraphy. His paintings live in Wu Changshuo and can show themselves. Especially good at drawing chickens, Mr. Wang is known as the "chicken fan in Jiangnan". His works have been selected for many important domestic exhibitions and won awards, and he has been invited to exhibit in Japan, the United States, Canada, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, France, Australia and other countries.
199 1 was invited to hold a personal painting and calligraphy exhibition in Shanghai. In his opening speech, Mr. Cheng Shifa commented that "Xu Beihong's horse, Li Keran's cow and Master Fan's chicken are all rare".
In September, 1993, Master Fan's solo exhibition was jointly held in China Art Museum by China Artists Association and China Calligraphy Association Exhibition Department. Wang Guangying and Liao Hansheng, Vice Chairmen of the National People's Congress, Yin Shoushi, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Wang Qi, Party Secretary and Executive Vice Chairman of China Artists Association, and Shen Peng, Acting Chairman of China Calligraphy Association cut the ribbon for the exhibition. More than 50 news organizations including China News Service, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV and People's Daily reported and introduced the exhibition.
1995 "Master Fan's Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition", as one of the important commemorative activities of the 46th anniversary of the National Day of People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC), was jointly sponsored by the Cultural Section of the Philippine Embassy in the Philippines and exhibited by Philippine literary and art groups in Manila.
