Information about Xu Youwen.
13 years ago, he and his colleague Chen recorded the Modern Chinese Dialect Phonetic Database with Chaoshan Dialect. At that time, Mandarin was being popularized all over the country. In order to protect local dialects and prevent them from weakening, China Academy of Social Sciences collected local dialects from all over the country and compiled them into "Dialect Phonetic Database".
Professor Shi Qisheng, a linguist from Sun Yat-sen University, whose ancestral home is Shantou, returned to Shantou to find a suitable person to record Shantou phonetic database, entrusted by China Academy of Social Sciences. When he came to Shantou Radio and Television Station, the announcer and Chen's timbre attracted him. Because Hechen's Chaoshan dialect is pure in pronunciation and clear in pronunciation.
Finally, with the approval of China Academy of Social Sciences, the Chaoshan dialect phonetic database was recorded. Recall the scene of that year: the recording was made at the teacher's home. There was only one tape recorder at that time, and the conditions were a bit crude. However, the content is the same version in all parts of the country, only recorded in different dialects.
