A famous economist in China, he is currently the director of the Institute of World Economics of China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and a doctoral supervisor. The main research field is the world economy and economic security, and it is the main consultant for the central government to formulate economic security policies. He has participated in many major economic topics hosted by the Central Financial and Economic Working Group and the the State Council Development Research Center, and has been interviewed by influential domestic media such as CCTV, Outlook, World Knowledge, Sina.com, Dongfang.com and China.com.

Born in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, he graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University in the 1970s,1981-kloc-0/983 studied at Beijing Institute of International Relations, 1986- 1988 studied in the former Yugoslavia, and successively served as a visiting scholar at the University of Glasgow in the UK and Columbia University in the United States.
