Who knows what "Lao Chen" means?
The first surname in Guangdong! ! !

Chen was the "sixth surname" in Song Dynasty, and now he is the "first surname" in Southeast China. In Taiwan Province Province and Guangdong Province, Chen's surname accounts for about 65,438+00% of the total population, making it the first surname in the province.

According to statistics, there are about 400,000 descendants of Chen Gui, over 50% of the people surnamed Chen in Guangdong are ancestors of Chen You, and almost all the people surnamed Chen in Guangzhou, Qingyuan and Conghua are descendants of Chen Gui.

(Reporter Zhang Qiang correspondent, Xiao Ling, Huang) Chen Gong Temple in Luogang District, Guangzhou, which is very close to Chen Gong Temple, will undergo protective maintenance next month. Little known is that this seemingly dilapidated ancestral hall actually enshrines the ancestors of most people surnamed Chen in the Pearl River Delta.

Led by Chen Yuxing, secretary of the village committee of Li Antang, the reporter came to the Chengong Temple in the middle of the village. According to reports, this ancestral temple was built in the 18th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (Chen Family Temple was built in the 16th to 20th year of Guangxu), with a total area of 961.35m. ..

Walking into the dilapidated ancestral temple, the main temple with three rooms stands in front of us, with one wing on the left and one wing on the right. There is a century-old well in the courtyard. On the left side of the ancestral temple, there is a "Qingyun Corridor" that leads directly to the backyard, with a rolled ear wall made of blue bricks on it. A beautiful gray sculpture with a height of about 40 cm is carved on the gray ridge. There are stone lion cornices on the shrimp beam, and exquisite watercolor figures are painted on the front wall. The most striking thing is the "Good World Hall" plaque directly above the ancestral hall. The inscription on the plaque was written by Chen Yizhi, a Jinshi of Chen Jiazhi, and under the plaque is the ancestral tablet.

Chen Yuxing told reporters that the present Chengong Temple is the activity center of villagers in Li Antang village. Every time Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival and Spring Festival, villagers will spontaneously go to the ancestral temple to worship their ancestors. Sacrificing ancestors is something that the villagers are very proud of, because they know that the ancestors of Chen in Guangdong died in the village and were buried in the village near the village. Compared with Chenjia Temple, a world-famous masterpiece of Lingnan architecture, the little-known Chen Gong Temple has more patriarchal significance.

Chen Yuxing helped the reporter find the village's 79-year-old "old historian" Chen. Chen found a well-preserved and thick genealogy from his wooden cupboard. He said: "Our ancestor is Chen Mo, and Chen Mo is the ancestor of most people surnamed Chen in the Pearl River Delta."

According to genealogical records, Chen Zuo (1004~ 1066) was born in Jiangxi in the Song Dynasty. He entered Guangdong from Zhuji Lane with his brother, and served as the edict of Changbao (now Nanxiong) in Guangdong Province (equivalent to the current "Director of Education Bureau"), and later served as the county captain of Changbao (equivalent to the present). His third son settled in Fengxiangshe (Fengcun this summer). After retirement, Chen Gui didn't go home, but went to Li Antang Village to provide for the aged and buried Yu Fengxiang Society. Chen Gui's descendants built Chen Cemetery for him in memory of his ancestors.

Under the leadership of Chen and Chen, the reporter came to Chen Cemetery. However, this ancient tomb with a history of hundreds of years is covered with black oil, and the inscription on the tombstone is vague. Two old people told reporters sadly that this may be caused by some foreigners picking up garbage and burning it in front of the tomb. They hope that the relevant departments will protect the ancestral graves of "Guangdong's first surname".
