Cheng Jia Dawu, Pingshan (now Niuxing Village, Shipai Town) is a modern educator and archaeologist. Cheng Yansheng studied in France, obtained a doctorate from the French Institute of Archaeology, and worked as a researcher at the Institute. After returning to China, he served as literature director of Huayan University in Hangzhou, professor of Peking University and Jinan University, and president of Anhui No.1 Normal University. 1April, 932, he took over as the president of Anhui University and wrote the lyrics of the school song himself. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 34 years, he became the president of Anhui University and resigned to Shanghai in 36 years. After the founding of New China, he became a librarian of Shanghai Literature and History Museum.

Cheng Yan was born in Xuantong and studied in Anhui Higher Education College in his early years. Later, he studied in Britain, France, Japan and other countries, and obtained a doctorate from the French Institute of Archaeology as a researcher. After returning to China, he has taught in Huayan University, Peking University, Jinan University and Anhui No.1 Normal University. During my teaching in Peking University, I participated in the New Culture Movement, co-organized university clubs with Shen, Chen Duxiu and Wang Xinggong, and also participated in the editing of New Youth magazine. During the May 4th Movement, they actively supported the patriotic movement of students, and together with Gao and Wang Xinggong, they distributed the Declaration of Beijing Citizens printed by Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao, denouncing the traitors of the Beiyang warlord government. After the Northern Expedition, Cheng became the special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and went to France, Turkey, Afghanistan, Belgium and other countries to inspect education, politics and economy. I saw 80 pictures of Yuanmingyuan in the Paris Library. After many consultations with the library, I was finally able to bring all the pictures back to China, providing first-hand information for future generations to explore the original appearance of Yuanmingyuan.

2 1 (1932) In April, Cheng Yansheng took over as the president of Anhui University and concurrently served as the deputy director of Anhui Tongzhi Museum. In order to raise funds for running the school, they went all out to let the school resume classes. At the same time, they extensively searched for local literature, and co-edited 6 issues of Anhui series with curator Jiang Tonghou, accounting for 7 1 piece, which made Xin 'an School's works spread since Ming and Qing Dynasties. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Cheng Yansheng was trapped on an "isolated island" and lived in the concession. He, Wang, etc. compiled the Series of History of Civil strife and Foreign Invasions in China (later renamed China Historical Research Materials) and published it. Wang puppet regime invited him to be a foreign minister or establish a university many times, but he was rejected. In order to avoid its harassment, Cheng Yansheng sneaked back to Anqing and hid in a friend's house. Later, with the help of Pan Xianlian, a friend engaged in postal work, he arrived in the rear and engaged in anti-Japanese and national salvation activities. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 34 years of the Republic of China, Cheng Yansheng presided over Anhui Public School, then resigned and moved to Shanghai.
