Kaizuka Shigeki

Kaizuka Shigeki (1904- 1987) is a Japanese oriental historian, an expert on ancient history in China and a professor at Kyoto University. He has profound attainments in Oracle Bone Inscriptions and inscriptions on bronze. Formerly known as Nana Ogawa, his father, Nana Ogawa Tuoji, is a famous Japanese geological geographer, and his younger brother, Hideki Yukawa, won the Nobel Prize in physics. Born in Tokyo, he began to learn Chinese books from his grandfather Nana Ogawa Zhu Zhu at the age of six, such as the Four Books, the Five Classics and other ancient China books. Since then, I have developed a keen interest in China's ancient books and history, and I am determined to make progress in this respect.
