Comrade Wu Tengfang, a native of lingchuan county, was the former commander-in-chief and political commissar of the People's Liberation Army in northern Guangxi and the secretary of the Land Working Committee of the CPC in northern Guangxi. He has been tested and worked hard all his life. He is a revolution that people respect and love. This year is his 94th birthday. Looking back, we used to carry out armed struggle under his leadership, inspired and educated by his old man's house, and we will never forget it. Now, describe a few battle fragments as a souvenir.
Here comes the "old-timer"
At the beginning of April, 1949, I came back from a meeting in Fushi Village, Xing 'an. Just entering the home of social security elder brother (Qin Wensheng) in the center, I saw a man of about forty years old, not tall, wearing a black woolen coat, a hat and a luminous watch. He looks like a big businessman. Social security sister-in-law told me that "this comrade was brought here by Yang Fan". When he saw me, he was very affectionate and asked me questions. I don't know who he is, so I dare not say more. I just have to deal with it (guerrillas should keep it strictly confidential, that's all). He said, "Xiaohong, just tell me and I'll be responsible for any problems." Seeing that he was famous, Luo Xiangzhong also called him out. I told him about the meeting in Fushi Village: "At that time, there were seven people, including Deng Ping (Li Yuping) and Ouyang Jiuming, who studied the attack on Nantian Township Office. Peng Yong 'an (female), a teacher of Nantian Township Central School, told the story. More than 30 township policemen put two mobile sentries at night. There is no inside line, so the pane needs washing or sawing. After discussing whether to fight or not, we can't decide. Finally, let's vote by show of hands. Ouyang Jiuming, Liao Ke (Deng) and Du Jun (Zhong Shupei) advocated an immediate war, while Deng Ping, Li Li () and Peng Yongan and I advocated not fighting for the time being ... "When he heard this, he was very angry:" What does Deng Ping do? There is no need to lift a finger in the army? If four people advocate fighting, will you fight? " At that time, he asked, "Is Deng Ping still there? Call him tomorrow! " I asked some other questions that night. He is very talkative and told me a lot about the revolution.
The next morning, I wore a Xing 'an rain hat and went to Pumice Village. Before I left, I asked him what to say when I found Deng Ping. He wrote the word "old-timer" on a small piece of paper for me to read and then tore it up. When I saw Deng Ping, I said he put on sandals and a rain hat and ran with me.
After lunch, Li Yuping and Luo Zhongxiang went out again. When he left, Luo Zhongxiang told me to do two things well: first, we must be vigilant and protect the "old-timers"; Second, it shows that social security elder brother went to Damiaotangwei and Haiyangwei for two or three times, and bought fifty or sixty kilograms of rice, twenty or thirty pairs of straw sandals, and two kilograms of cigarettes (because social security elder brother's family is poor, buying so many things at one time is easy to arouse suspicion).

Li Yuping to talk to "doyen", on April 5, Li Yuping led eight guerrillas, laid the white stone township office in Xing 'an, many prisoners. Know the situation in advance and arrange the insider (Ouyang Meizhong). We controlled the whole township office and put all township officials under centralized supervision. After education, we told them to behave themselves after returning home, and they were not allowed to act as minions of reactionaries to do bad things, and then burned all the official documents and took away all the armed ammunition.
Since then, our guerrillas in northern Guangxi and Gaoyuan have officially started. According to the instructions of the superior, Gao Yuanjun is led by Quan Baozi (alias Lin Jun), and Li Yuping is the political instructor and secretary of the Party branch of Gaoyuan District.
Later I learned that this "old-timer" is Wu Tengfang. Why do you call him an "old-timer"? It is because he participated in the anti-Japanese and national salvation activities in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in 1944 and performed the drama "Put Down Your Whip". Wu Tengfang's role as an "old-timer" in the play is very similar. It is named after being older, decent and rigorous, and struggling for a long time. In the People's Liberation Army in northern Guangxi, there is an elder demeanor, and everyone respects him. Everyone respects him as an "old-timer".
After laying the Baishi Township office in Xing 'an, Wu Tengfang worked in our activity area for more than 20 days. He looked around the terrain among the residents, and everywhere he went, he asked whether the relationship between the masses was reliable. In late April, doyen and a dozen of us (Xiao Hong, Luo Xiangzhong, Zhao Zhengxi, etc. ) came to the wild dragon world in Xiaopingle like a whirlwind, and led us to help the masses pick the grain rain tea for a long time (April 20). In the afternoon, Wu Tengfang bought a goat in Gong's house, slaughtered the vegetables and invited the prestigious elders in the village to attend. Wu Tengfang made publicity and education in combination with the situation. Later, our lofty troops escorted him to quanzhou county to meet the comrades in the headquarters. ▲
