Liao Hua, a general in Shu, is famous for his courage and determination. Liao Hua was Guan Yu's master book, and was captured by Wu after the defeat. But he managed to escape and cut Wu with Liu Bei. Later, he served as Emperor Guangwu and the magistrate of Yin Ping, and participated in the Northern Expedition many times. In his later years, he was promoted to be a right-handed general for meritorious service, and fought against Shu for Wei generals Deng Ai and Zhong Hui. After the demise of Shu, Liao Hua was moved to Luoyang and died at the age of 70.

[263] Wei generals Wargo and Zhong Hui attacked Shu, while Liao Hua, Yi Cheung, Dong Jue and others led the troops to resist. Liao Hua went to Du Zhong to help Jiang Wei, and then retreated to Jiange with Jiang Wei. Later, Zhuge Zhan was defeated by Wargo in Mianzhu, and Liao Hua and others took Jiang Wei to retreat to Chengdu, but they got the late surrender on the way.
