The Historical Evolution of Shuangcai Town
Shuangcai Town was originally named Huanglianpu. 1in the twelfth lunar month of 949, 1000 more than one local bandit attacked the seat of the then Chinese communist government. Guo Shuangcai, deputy head of the district, led all government workers and more than 30 PLA soldiers to fight back heroically. In the end, because they were outnumbered, except for a few people, Guo Shuangcai and other 28 martyrs died heroically. In order to commemorate these revolutionary martyrs, the then Neijiang County People's Government approved the renaming of Huang Lian Shop as Shuangcai Township on 1952. Martyrs Cemetery was built in 1966. The cemetery is located on a hill near Shuangcai Township. More than 100 wide and straight stone steps pass through the stone archway door and go straight to the top of the mountain. The stone tombs of 28 martyrs are arranged in a ∏ shape. The names, genders, ages, positions and places of birth of the martyrs are all engraved in front of each tomb for future generations to pay tribute to.
