On-the-spot report on the launch mission of "one arrow and many satellites" carried out by the second C rocket of Aerospace Science and Technology Group
On March 5th, at 0 14: 08+0, China successfully launched six satellites from the 2nd batch of Yinhe Aerospace and 1 Xuan Ming satellite-source micro-nano satellites into the scheduled orbit by the Long March II C carrier rocket at xichang satellite launch center, and the launch mission was a complete success. This launch is also the first space launch mission carried out by xichang satellite launch center in 2022.

It seems that behind a conventional rocket launch mission, the Chang Er C rocket test team made great efforts for this "gold medal veteran".

Take various measures in the face of multi-satellite mission

The Chang 'e-3 rocket, which carried out this launch mission, made a new breakthrough in its development cycle. It took only nine months from determining the launch mission, beginning to demonstrate the launch plan and overall detailed design, and launching the rocket. In the case of great changes in the technical status and product structure of the rocket, the team successfully completed the task and set a new record for model development and launch.

The shortened development cycle, tight time and heavy tasks have brought new challenges to the Chang 'e-3 rocket test team. Li Jun, chief designer of the Chang 'e-3 rocket, said that since the rocket arrived at the launch site, the test team has held mobilization meetings, dispatching meetings, pre-shift meetings and post-shift meetings, and issued work plans to ensure that personnel understand the work plan, are familiar with the work status and clarify the main points of work.

In this launch mission, it is a new challenge for the Chang-II-C rocket to send seven satellites into the predetermined orbit. In order to meet the requirements of the new launch mission, the test team adjusted the rocket technology and workflow accordingly. In particular, the Chang 'e III rocket will send seven satellites into space at a time, so the diameter of the rocket fairing must be designed to be larger.

Jiao, a technician of the Fourth Squadron of the Chang 'e-3 Rocket Test Team, said that the launch was the first flight of the Chang 'e-2 rocket with a 2-stage rocket configuration and a 4.2-meter fairing configuration. The height of the instrument cabin was 660 mm, which was a brand-new combination of the rocket.

"The separation mode and closing mode of the 4.2m fairing are completely different from the previous 3.35m diameter fairing. Therefore, in the process of closing the satellite fairing, the test team overcame the difficulties caused by large-scale hoisting, cooperated vigorously, commanded accurately, and completed the task perfectly. " Jiao Yu Ming said.

In view of the large number of products and long docking process, Li Jun said that the test team strengthened scheduling coordination and strict precision control in the product preparation stage to ensure the task schedule and product quality. At the same time, the test team refined the operation and test rules and regulations documents, and the calibration documents were implemented step by step in the overall test stage of rocket assembly, which ensured the planned progress and enriched the pertinence and effectiveness of the documents.

In addition, in order to make the satellite "comfortably" separated after entering space, the Chang 'e-3 rocket also adopted the structural scheme of central bearing tube, and the mechanical connection between the rocket and the satellite was realized by side hanging. Using this design method, the risk of satellite separation is effectively reduced and the mission success rate is greatly improved.

In the face of this series of complicated work, Li Jun said that the test team always adheres to the process quality confirmation system, and the results can be confirmed at the job site to ensure that the work is correct and done well at one time. The experimental group adheres to the multimedia recording system of the process and organizes centralized confirmation every day to ensure that the process is correct and the results are effective.

At the same time, in order to ensure the complete success of the launch mission, the Chang-II-C rocket has also fully applied digital molding technology. Jiao said that in this mission, the two sides of the satellite and the arrow cooperated to carry out digital modeling based on the depth of the three-dimensional model, which ensured the first intersection of the mechanical interface of the satellite and the arrow at the launch site, and the joint operation of the satellite and the arrow went smoothly.

Take various measures to ensure the success of the task.

This mission is the first launch of the Chang-II-C rocket in 2022, which is of great significance for the successful completion of this model's annual mission. Therefore, Yang Jianmin, the commander-in-chief of Chang 'e-3 rocket, put forward specific requirements and hopes for the launch work, which inspired the morale of the test team members and strengthened their determination and confidence to successfully complete the task.

In order to overcome the impact of COVID-19 epidemic, according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control at the launch site, the temporary Party Committee of the test team earnestly grasped the epidemic prevention and control work of the test team, organized the medical team to distribute epidemic prevention materials such as masks and disinfection supplies to the test team members, and formulated emergency plans to put all prevention and control requirements in place and implement them in detail.

Bai Haiyan, political worker of the Chang 'e-3 rocket test team, said that after the test team entered the launch site, the medical team actively coordinated the test team members to carry out nucleic acid testing, focused on visiting doctors, asked about the health status and medical history of the team members, and made written records, especially for the climate characteristics of the base, and put forward medical suggestions. During the whole mission, the test team members were in good health.

In addition, in order to ensure the success of the launch mission, and to let everyone relax after their busy work, the experimental team organized meaningful activities such as the Lantern Festival solve riddles on the lanterns, hiking and taking photos with the theme of "Go all out to ensure success, let's look forward to the future together".

The holding of various activities fully mobilized the enthusiasm of all the test team members and inspired their inner recognition of the aerospace spirit. The test team members have said that as the successors of China's space industry, they will never forget the initial intention of serving the country by space, shoulder the mission of being a space power, keep a clear head, keep steady and steady, strive for perfection, and make new contributions to the complete success of China's space industry.
