Zhu Chen,1born in August 1953, was born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. He has a postgraduate degree and a doctor of science degree. 1970 joined the work. 1April 1970 to 19751October, educated youth in Xinfeng and Hengfeng counties, Jiangxi Province. 1September 1978 to 198 1 September 1998, studied for a master's degree in hematology, Faculty of Medicine, Shanghai Second Medical College. 198/kloc-0 worked as a resident in the hematology laboratory of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical College from September, 2000 to September, 2004. 1September 1984 to1July 1989, he was appointed as the blood center of St. Louis Hospital of Paris University, France. 1Since July, 1989, he has served as the attending physician of internal medicine in Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University, the laboratory director and researcher of Molecular Biology Center of Shanghai Institute of Hematology, the deputy director and director of Shanghai Institute of Hematology, and the director of National Southern Research Center of Human Genome. From October 2000 to June 2007, he served as vice president of China Academy of Sciences. On June 29th, 2007, the 28th meeting of the 10th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) appointed him as the Minister of Health. In March 2008, he was appointed Minister of Health at the first session of the 11th National People's Congress. Zhu Chen was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences and a member of the 10th China People's Political Consultative Conference on 1995. Zhu Chen has made great achievements in hematology, molecular biology and other fields, and achieved breakthrough results. He has won many awards, such as the Loize Award of the French Anti-cancer Alliance and the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Zhu Chen is a member of the Third World Academy of Sciences, a foreign member of the European Academy of Sciences, a foreign member of the American Academy of Sciences and a member of the French Academy of Sciences. On October 8, 2007, he was elected as a foreign academician of the American Academy of Medical Sciences. 201February, Zhu Chen was awarded the 7th Szentgyorgy cancer research innovation achievement award by the National Cancer Research Foundation of the United States for his original achievements in the research of acute promyelocytic leukemia and the development of new therapies. For the first time in 29 years, China appointed a non-partisan as a government minister.
