Some details of the past will make an interesting story. Remember 1897, when Nanyang Public College was just founded, Dr. John C. John Calvin Ferguson from Boston University was employed by the college to design the school building and curriculum system? In 2007, when the Law School of Shanghai Jiaotong University achieved initial results and needed urgent promotion, Liao Kaiyuan, a Chinese-American entrepreneur, generously rebuilt the law school building and comprehensively improved the teaching and research conditions. Approved by the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School was also named "Kaiyuan Law School".
