Where is the hometown of China's fear of dragons?
The hometown of dinosaur is Zigong City, Sichuan Province, China.

The famous dinosaur fossils unearthed in Zigong, Sichuan include Yongchuan Dragon, Heping Pirate Dragon, Jianshe Qilong, Tuojiang Dragon, Huayang Dragon, Emei Dragon, Yandulong, Mamen Xilong in Shi Yang, Mamen Xilong in Hechuan, Giant Spinosaur and so on.

Zigong dinosaur was first discovered by American geologist Lloyd Burke in1913-1915. His discovery opened the door to Zigong dinosaur fossil treasure house. The older generation of geologists found more than 60 dinosaur fossils in Zigong, with Dashanpu being the most famous. Dashanpu, known as the "dinosaur graveyard", unearthed almost all kinds of well-preserved dinosaur bones, in addition to a large number of other vertebrate fossils.

Fossil site

Dashanpu dinosaur fossil site is located near Dashanpu Town in the northeast suburb of Zigong City, Sichuan Province, about 1 1 km. It is rich in fossils of dinosaurs and other vertebrates from the Middle Jurassic1.600 million years ago. It is the most important burial place of dinosaur fossils in China and one of the most important burial places of paleontology fossils in the world. The site was first discovered in 1972 and 1977, and a relatively complete sauropod dinosaur skeleton was obtained. 1979 due to infrastructure construction, a large number of fossils were exposed.

During the period of 1979~ 1984, three large-scale cleanups and excavations were organized successively, and tens of thousands of dinosaur and other vertebrate fossil bone specimens of more than 200 individuals were obtained within a range of about 2,800 square meters, from which 18 genera of dinosaur fish, amphibians, turtles, crocodiles and pterodactyls were studied and named.
