Liao, born in Chengdu, Sichuan, now lives in Hong Kong. 1979 After being admitted to the Chinese Language and Literature Department of Southwest University (formerly Southwest Normal University), he began to write poems. He was an active participant and promoter of college students' poetry creation. 1982, together with Xia Wan, Li Yawei, Zhao Ye, Hu Dong, Tang Yaping, and fellow poet Guo Shaocai, he named and put forward the concept of "the third generation" which was subversive to the later development of China's poetry, and actively participated in and promoted this far-reaching poetry movement.

1982 After graduation, I worked as a teacher and editor in Chengdu. 1985 After moving to Hong Kong, he gradually faded out of the domestic poetry circle and shifted his creative focus to Hong Kong. 1986 won the Hong Kong Youth Literature and Poetry Award. After Liao moved to Hongkong, he actively publicized China's poems, which were regarded as underground literature at that time, and made positive contributions to the overseas influence of China's poems. 1986 Together with Hong Kong poets, he planned and edited the album Controlled Growth by Ouyang, Yu, Yu, Sun and Liao Xi in the Hong Kong literary publication Thumb, and seven Sichuan poets were awarded as "Seven Gentlemen of Sichuan". This album not only attracted great attention from domestic and foreign poetry circles, but also had a positive impact on the development of several poets in the album, which was still in the underground creation state at that time.

In the late 1980s, Liao started to do business. 1999 lived in the UK, and was admitted to the University of Birmingham in 20001year, majoring in international political economy, and then dropped out of school for personal reasons.

In 20 14, after Liao became the general manager of Eternal Culture Communication Co., Ltd., together with director Zhang Ming, he developed and prepared a number of commercial film projects that were highly anticipated by film critics and audiences and highly compatible with the market, and have been put into production.
