Native to the warm and humid desert area along the Caribbean coast, I like plenty of sunshine and certain air humidity. Very sensitive to cold, suitable for climate with low humidity in summer and less rain and snow in winter. In winter, it can safely overwinter above 10℃, and the suitable growth temperature is 15 ~ 25℃, which is suitable for growing on sandy loam rich in humus.

Although Cai Yun can blossom, it is not easy to bear seeds. It takes 30 years for seeds to germinate and bloom, and the amount of seeds is small, so seedlings are not easy to overwinter. Potted plants have shallow roots and are difficult to grow well. Generally, the growth of young balls is promoted by cutting the top, and then grafted and propagated.

In places where warm, sunny and humid air are needed for growth, the roots are shallow and shallow pots should be used for cultivation. Mix the seedlings with equal amounts of humus, peat and plain sand, and add a small amount of calcareous materials. Pay attention to ventilation when it is hot in summer. The thorns are all straight out of the cone, red to reddish brown, the flower base is wide and flat, and the thorns are thinner than thick white fluff. The flower is 2.5 cm long and reddish. Made in Colombia. ② Yun Lan, whose name means sky blue or pure dark blue, is a new species in Brazil, officially named as 197 1. Its sphere is 17 cm in height, about 14 cm in diameter, and its epidermis is sky blue. The root is thick and branched, with 9 ~ 10 edges, and the ridge is thin and high, with oval spines, with a diameter of about 0.7 cm and a length of 1.4 cm, and three middle spines 1 or smaller, with seven spines around, with a length of 4 cm, gray spines and dark brown spines.
