Yu was arrested.
1993 April 15, the general office of Tianjin Municipal Committee of China sent a telegram to Cui, secretary of Jinghai County Committee: "Comrade Gao Dezhan invited Comrade Yu to talk in Hotel No.1 at 2: 30 this afternoon. Please inform Comrade Yu and invite you to join our activities. " Wily Yu got a call from the newly appointed secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee to talk to him, and decided to go after careful consideration. In order to prevent accidents, he took a personal bodyguard with high martial arts skills and selected three entourage (Li, Zhu Zhenfeng (female) and Yang Huige) to go to Tianjin with Cui, secretary of the county party Committee.

At the gate of Tianjinwei Club, the security guards only let Yu's car in, and everyone else stayed away. Although I felt ominous, he had to do it. The car was parked in the yard and he followed the club staff into the designated room. It is not the party secretary who is waiting, but a group of serious and heavily armed policemen. The public security officer showed his detention card, so Yu had to give in easily.

Yu Yi's case was interrogated by Luo, a 47-year-old public security cadre of Tianjin Public Security Bureau. Before the trial, he interrogated the former acting general manager of Wanquan Group in advance, and through three "contests" with Yu, the interrogator completely grasped the initiative.

On April 2 1, Yu walked into the interrogation room and Luo announced: "According to your criminal facts, you were arrested with the approval of Tianjin Public Security Bureau and reported to Tianjin Procuratorate for approval, and decided to arrest you. This is an arrest warrant, you sign it. " I stood up, wrote down my name and date, and pressed my fingerprint. Because of my nervousness, I misspelled 1993 as 1933. Only after being pointed out by the public security personnel did he correct it. On August 23rd and 24th, Tianjin Intermediate People's Court held a public hearing to hear the criminal acts of Yu and seven accomplices, and made a first-instance judgment on the 27th: according to the facts and circumstances of Yu's crimes, he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment for harboring, three years' imprisonment for obstructing official duties, ten years' imprisonment for accepting bribes, two years' deprivation of political rights, three years' imprisonment for illegal detention and three years' imprisonment for illegally controlling others.

On the same day that the Tianjin Intermediate People's Court held a public hearing on Yu et al., Xinhua News Agency broadcast a long newsletter entitled "The National Law does not allow-Yu's criminal facts". On August 28th, People's Daily published an editorial "Lessons from the Past", demanding: "The people of the whole country must learn from the Daqiuzhuang incident, strengthen the construction of spiritual civilization and ideological and political work, and improve people's cultural and moral literacy and legal awareness. Never allow' earth fences' and' local emperors' that no one can control in the party and the people's political power. "

Subsequently, Legal Daily, Tianjin Daily, Wen Wei Po, Workers Daily, China Youth Daily and newspapers in Hong Kong and Taiwan also published commentary articles in succession, criticizing the verdict.

After being sentenced, Yu was taken to Tianjin No.1 Prison for reform.

Later, due to neurasthenia and heart disease, he was released on parole and sent to Tianjin Tianhe Hospital. There, the judicial department gave him a more relaxed environment and generous treatment: Tianhe Hospital set aside three rooms with reception room, bedroom and bathroom for the rest of the couple to live in; He can read newspapers every day and learn about state affairs. 1In the spring of 1997, his 96-year-old mother died, and the judicial department allowed him to go home to visit.
