At this time, under the leadership of Li Xin, Qin Jun attacked Heping (now north of Heping, Henan Province), and Meng Tian attacked Beiqiu (now Linquan, Henan Province), and defeated the Chu army. Li Xin attacked Yan and Ying again, and both armies were broken. So, he led the troops to the west and joined the Meng Tian army in Chengfu (now north of Pingdingshan, Henan). Xiang Yan's Chu army seized the opportunity to accumulate strength, followed Qin Jun for three days and three nights, finally broke Li Xin's army, captured two camps, killed seven captains, and Qin Jun fled.

When Qin Shihuang heard that Qin Jun had failed, he flew into a rage. Wang Jian accepted the order of the king of Qin and set out from his hometown Qiankou Village the next day. To commemorate this great event, the local people also built a temple named Huatou Temple for Princess Huayang in Huayang Plateau.

Wang Jian dispelled the doubts of the king of Qin and commanded the army to capture Chu in one fell swoop. When Wang Jian returned triumphantly, the King of Qin had given Wang Jian the beautiful land and beautiful Fiona Fang of today's Six Songs. Because the land here is flat and the geology is fertile, it is called Mei Tian, hence the name Meiyuan.
