I studied accordion with my father Yang Wentao (an accordion player of the older generation in China and a first-class actor of Haizheng Song and Dance Troupe) since childhood, which laid a good foundation. I graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music and studied under Mr. Wang Yuping.

He is currently a national first-class actor of the Comrades Song and Dance Troupe of the Political Department of the Beijing Military Region, a member of the China Musicians Association, and an expert assessor of the national musical instrument grade examination. He won the first prize of the first national professional accordion competition and the outstanding performance award of the whole army's literary performance.

As a professional performer, Yang Yi is often invited to hold solo concerts and lectures in various places. Its rigorous, delicate and expressive performance style formed by years of artistic practice has a wide influence among peers in the country.

Yang Yi also participated in the compilation of the National Accordion Examination Collection (1- 10) and the basic exercises for the examination. Entrusted by China Audio Protocol Committee, we recorded a full set of standard demonstration videos and vcd( 120 pieces of music) [1].

At the invitation of the Television Teachers College of the State Education Commission, I recorded 20 satellite TV series teaching programs "Accordion Performance Basis" with my father (50 minutes each). This teaching program has been made into VCD (divided into three parts: introduction, skills and accompaniment) and published.

In addition, he also recorded theme songs for many TV series such as 10 Glory Street and Choice. Published the cassette and CD of the dance music "Lovers"; Co-published "Accordion Lyric Songs Accompaniment Collection" with my father. His life has been compiled into many authoritative dictionaries, such as "China Musicians Directory" and "China Contemporary Art Who's Who".
