Kunming University of Science and Technology College of Life Science and Technology
The college has four teaching and research institutions, namely, Bioengineering Technology Research Center, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Engineering Technology Research Center, Medical and Health Research Center and Experimental Teaching Center. There are 76 faculty members, including professors 16, associate professors/20, doctoral supervisors/7, young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders in Yunnan Province, 5 reserve talents for young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders, and winners of "special allowance" in Yunnan Province 1 person. 82% of the full-time teachers in the college have doctoral degrees, forming a highly educated, high-level and well-structured teaching team.

At present, the College has the second-class key discipline of "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology", the key discipline of "Kunming University of Science and Technology/Tsinghua University-Exploitation and Utilization of Biological Resources" and four school-level key disciplines. There are two disciplines and two doctoral programs in "Environmental Biology" and "Biometallurgy". It has a master's degree authorization point in biology (including 2 disciplines 12 master's degree authorization points), 2 master's degree authorization points in medicinal chemistry and biochemical engineering, and 2 master's degree authorization points in bioengineering and pharmaceutical engineering. Li: female, doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor, reserve talent for young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders in Yunnan Province. 1993 graduated from the biology department of southwest normal university, and obtained the master's degree and doctor's degree in phytochemistry from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996 and 2004 respectively. Chen: Male, Ph.D., professor, tutor for master students, and currently head of the Department of Bioengineering, School of Life Science and Technology. 1985 graduated from Nanjing Agricultural University with a master's degree in microbiology and immunology. In the same year, he went to Kunming University of Science and Technology to build the discipline of food bioengineering, and served as the director of laboratory, teaching and research section and department head. Meng Qingxiong: Male, doctor, associate professor, tutor of master students. In February 2000, he graduated from Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, majoring in zoology, biochemistry and molecular biology. He has published many articles on the model of neurotoxicity and receptor binding, drugs for treating postsynaptic neurotoxicity, drug utilization of neurotoxins and design of molecular structure and function modification in domestic and foreign magazines. Bai Yang: Male, in-service doctor, associate professor, tutor for master students, and currently head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, School of Life Science and Technology. Long-term engaged in the modification of natural products such as starch, cyclodextrin, chitosan and other macromolecules and their application research in medicine, chemical industry, environment and so on. At present, he is engaged in the research of subject-object chemistry and supramolecular chemistry of natural products, and carries out research work in the first-class supramolecular chemistry laboratory in China.
