"2008 China Shipbuilding Industry Development Forum and 60th Anniversary Commemorative Meeting of China Shipbuilding Industry" was held in Beijing on October 28th, 2008. Leading comrades present at the meeting included Hu Chuanzhi, Zhang Guangqin, former leaders of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Tan, general manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and vice general manager of China State Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Ye Yuhai, Deputy Inspector of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Minister of Communications, Chen Yingqiu, Deputy Director of the Advisory Technical Committee of China Classification Society, Huang, Jin Caikuan, Fang Shujia, Zhengguo Liu, Secretary-General Luo, relevant leaders and representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting, totaling 170. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Jin Caikuan, Vice President Fang Shujia and Secretary General Luo respectively. At the opening ceremony, Chairman Huang gave a welcome speech, Academician China Ship delivered a speech commemorating the 60th anniversary of the publication of China Ship, and the deputy general manager read out five decisions on awarding the honorary title to the chief ship designer.
The conference held a grand ceremony to issue certificates. Firstly, the resumes of six comrades who won the honorary title of "Master of Ship Design", including Yang Baohe, Song, Yu Baojun, Ma Yande and Hu, and the 10 ship type awarded "2008 Brand Ship Type" are introduced. In "The Sound of Music", relevant leading comrades issued certificates to relevant personnel and units who won the honorary titles of Master Ship Designer, 2008 Brand Ship Type, 2007 Academy Science and Technology Award, 2008 Excellent Science and Technology Periodical and 2007 Academy Excellent Academic Paper.
Subsequently, the 2008 shipbuilding industry development forum began. Zhang Guangqin, Deputy Inspector of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, President of China Shipbuilding Industry Association, Tan, General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and Deputy General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation made speeches respectively, expressing their views on the impact of the current global financial crisis on China's shipbuilding industry and our countermeasures. Chen Yingqiu, deputy chief engineer of China Classification Society, introduced the development of China's common standard ship forms. Zhao Yingnian, manager of CNOOC Engineering Construction Department, Fu Dao, senior engineer, Dai Ronghai, researcher of the Ninth Design and Research Institute, Zhao Zhengping, senior engineer of Shanghai Shipbuilding Technology Research Institute, Liu Xiaoming, researcher of China Shipbuilding Technology Academic Committee, and Song Youliang, researcher of Shipbuilding Technology Academic Committee, gave speeches on topics such as ocean engineering development, new ship design technology, scientific and technological progress in ship repair, shipbuilding technology development, and green shipbuilding. The speeches of leading comrades and guests were warmly welcomed by the participants. The minutes of this forum will be published after the speeches of relevant leading comrades are supplemented.
