A brief introduction to the author of traditional 85-style boxing
Mr. Song:

Born in 1938, he studied martial arts with his father, Song Tingshun, and Zhang Renfu, a famous martial artist, as his teacher. He studied Xingyiquan and Bagua from his uncle, Geng Jiyi and Suben Primary School. In the 1970s, he continued to study Tai Ji Chuan and Xingyiquan with the famous martial artist Shi Peiwen, and was introduced to the martial artist Chu Guiting by Mr Geng Jiyi. Thanks to teacher Chu's guidance, my kung fu has made great progress. Year after year, with painstaking practice, Wushu has become more and more refined, and gradually formed a unique style of "stretching the atmosphere, being flexible in posture, and exerting strength to fight cold bullets". He was among the best in the first and second national Tai Ji Chuan and Sword competitions, especially Tai Ji Chuan's drill, which won applause from famous artists and all the contestants. Many outstanding athletes such as Lin Qiuping and Gao Jiamin learned from him on the spot.

With the aim of "practicing martial arts for the benefit of the people", Mr. Song devoted himself to the mass popularization movement in Tai Ji Chuan. Since 1975, he has served as a counselor and stationmaster of Xuzhou Wushu Counseling Station in Jiangsu Province. He has been teaching for more than 30 years and has many students. I have accumulated rich teaching experience in my long-term teaching practice. Teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, from shallow to deep, and constantly innovating, summed up and launched ten techniques of "Eight Extremes of Form and Meaning, Twelve Hands, and Taiji Chuan"; It is put forward that "one light, two loose and three supports" should be used in single-potential drills, and "three seamless" should be used in all-potential drills, that is, the transition between potential and potential is seamless, the transition between speed and speed is seamless, and the transition between rigidity and flexibility is seamless; During the drill, the eyes should be "one to follow, two to see and three to set".
