Formerly known as ruxu, it is located in the middle of Anhui Province, on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Doing nothing means "thinking that the world is content with doing nothing and governing by doing nothing". In April of the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Wuwei prefecture was changed to Wuwei county. In 20 19, Wuwei county was abolished and county-level Wuwei city was established. Wuwei is one of the top 100 counties and cities in science and technology innovation, protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics, e-commerce in China and innovation in China.
The general feature of Wuwei's inland landscape is that "Shanxi is surrounded in the north and the water is suddenly southeast". Generally, it can be divided into plain area and hilly area, and the main river is Xihe River. The Xihe River runs through the city from west to east, enters the Yuxi River and joins the Yangtze River. The main tributaries are Hemao River, Guogong River, Yong 'an River, Dushan River, Huaqiao River, Huadu River and Huangchen River. The climate belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone. The monsoon is remarkable, the four seasons are distinct, the sunshine is abundant, the rainfall is abundant, it is warm and humid, and the frost-free period is long, but the rainfall varies greatly during the year, with frequent droughts and floods.
