Under the leadership of Zeng Hengyi, the analysis and research were carried out, and a series of important technical problems were solved one by one, such as the overall scale and layout optimization of oil storage tanks, the overall strength of hull structure, the strengthening standard of ice area, the influence of hull motion parameters on the performance of production process facilities, the anti-icing of floating hoses, the ballast of mooring soft steel arm system and so on. The floating production storage tanker is moored at sea through a single point. In the stormy sea, the floating production storage tanker rotates around a single point, so that it is always in the position with the least stress. In order to master the motion performance and main parameters of the single-point mooring system, Zeng Hengyi led his team to Vakhlin Root Laboratory in the Netherlands to do pool model tests on the whole mooring system under various working conditions, which laid a reliable foundation for the design work. In the process of construction, he goes deep into the construction site every day to study and solve technical problems with the technicians and workers of the factory and strictly control the construction quality. After 900 days and nights of hard work, every key technical problem has been solved, and the whole design and construction work has been highly praised by Japanese experts. 1990 in may, China's first offshore floating production and storage tanker designed and built according to international standards-"Bohai Friendship" stood tall in the center of Bohai Bay. 1994, China Offshore Oil Corporation decided to set up a production research center, the main task of which is to be responsible for the preliminary research of offshore oil and gas field development, the compilation of the overall development plan and the conceptual design of major projects. Investment evaluation of foreign oil and gas field development plan; For the oil and gas fields that have been put into production, formulate technical policies centered on improving oil recovery; Organize the research on national "863" marine high-tech projects, major scientific and technological projects for oil and gas field development and major technical problems in production. Zeng Hengyi was appointed as the deputy director of the center. In recent years, Zeng Hengyi presided over the preliminary work of the national "863" project "Exploitation Technology of Offshore Marginal Oil and Gas Field Resources". The preliminary research and overall development plan of five large and medium-sized offshore oil and gas fields were organized. In his work, he is broad-minded, pays attention to the careful analysis of basic data and basic materials, puts forward the idea of seeking benefits from basic data, and sets about establishing corresponding databases. Drawing lessons from the successful experience of offshore oil and gas field development and construction at home and abroad, he actively promoted the application of new technologies, and successively put forward a number of important suggestions, such as adopting single-leg steel cable to support a simple platform for offshore gas field development, adopting vibration isolation technology for Jinzhou 20-2 anti-icing platform, adopting barrel-type basic technology for the development of various platforms in Bohai Oilfield, developing artificial islands, tension leg platforms and multifunctional concrete simple production and storage platforms, which saved a lot of investment for the country.
