Shaoguan City seriously investigated the responsibilities of relevant personnel according to relevant regulations, and decided to remove Chen Jinghui from the post of Party Secretary of Xinfeng County, Long Yongwen (former Party Secretary and Director of Shaoguan Civil Affairs Bureau) from the post of Party Secretary and Director of Shaoguan Water Affairs Bureau, Lai Qixin from the post of Party Member and Deputy Director of Shaoguan Civil Affairs Bureau, and Liu Xiangtie from the post of Party Secretary and Director of Xinfeng Civil Affairs Bureau.

Yi, director of the new bureau of Xinfeng County and former director of the county civil affairs bureau, deputy director of the county agricultural machinery bureau and former deputy director of the county civil affairs bureau, Zhu, deputy director of the county civil affairs bureau, chief of the social welfare and social affairs unit of the county civil affairs bureau, and Lai, vice chairman of wengyuan county of Shaoguan City and former deputy head of Xinfeng County, were placed on file for investigation for alleged dereliction of duty. Nine people, including Li Cuiqiong, Yi and Pan Zhongai, have been taken criminal compulsory measures according to law.
The investigation found that the investors, legal representatives and some managers of Lianxi foster care center violated the rules, misappropriated the aid subsidy funds, and some staff abused the foster care personnel. On March 8, Shaoguan public security organs criminally detained Liu Xiuyu, the investor of the foster care center, Luo, the legal representative, Luo Bizeng, the staff of the foster care center, and six suspects, including Chen Cuifen, Chen, Pan Yingjun, Li Pinxin, Ren and Xu.
