Zhuozi Mountain was named after the original name of Table Mountain, and it was named because the top of the mountain was as flat as a desktop.

Brief introduction of villages and towns
Zhuozi Mountain Town is the residence of Zhuozi County Government, namely Zhuozi Mountain Town. During the Liao and Jin Dynasties, it was the residence of Fengzhou, Xijing Road. Yuan Dynasty belongs to Fengzhou area of Datong Road, Zhongshu Province. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Guanshanwei was set up in ninety-nine springs. Its subordinate town is located 36 kilometers west of Zhuozishan Town, bordering the suburbs of Hohhot in the west, with a population of 1.6 million. In the first year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1836), farmers such as Yang et al. from Qingyuan (now Qingxu County) in Shanxi Province came here one after another to reclaim land, which was named after a tall flagpole in front of the medieval temple in the village.
In June 2020, Zhuozi County was included in the second batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization counties (Jinsui area).
