dusk

Author: Shu Ting

I said, I heard soft footsteps behind me.

You said the breeze kissed the road I walked.

I said, the stars are as colorful as fireworks.

You said my eyelashes were covered with pollen.

I said, Xiao Zhiju closed his sleepy eyes.

You said, cordate telosma opened up layers of hearts again.

I said, this is a vibrant late spring.

Extended data

Not many people may know Shu Ting's Twilight. This poem was written by the author at dusk in the 1980s. It is an absolutely famous but absolutely classic and absolutely beautiful traditional misty poem.

The poetess used the writing skills of early symbolic poetry, and each sentence had a specific object corresponding to it. Literally, this poem can be seen at a glance, in black and white, but what you can understand is only the surface. If you don't expand your imagination, you have no idea what the author wants to express. This is the genius of symbolism poetry.

She only shows you the surface of the text, but doesn't let you know the deep meaning of the author. You should create your own association through the surface of the objective counterpart she passed on to you, so as to complete a spiritual reading journey.

The "I" and "you" in the poem can be imagined as a poetess and her lover, or the world between her and an expert, or the world between the author and her (assuming for the time being that it is a spiritual dialogue between her and an expert).
