On the afternoon of May 29th, our city held a meeting of leading cadres to announce the decision of the provincial party committee on adjusting the main leaders of Huai 'an Municipal Government: Comrade Qu Futian was appointed as member, standing committee member and deputy secretary of Huai 'an Municipal Committee, and Comrade Gao Xuekun was removed from his post as deputy secretary, standing committee member and member of Huai 'an Municipal Committee; Comrade Qu Futian was nominated as the mayor candidate of Huai 'an, and Comrade Gao Xuekun was no longer the mayor of Huai 'an. Wang Qi, executive vice minister of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, spoke highly of Huai 'an's achievements in economic and social development in recent years, and put forward ardent hopes and clear requirements for future development. Liu Yongzhong, Gao Xuekun and Qu Futian, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, spoke at the meeting respectively. Yuan, deputy director of the Party Building Office of the Provincial Party Committee and director of the Third Division of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, read out the relevant decisions of the Provincial Party Committee at the meeting.

Liu Yongzhong said that since Comrade Gao Xuekun went to work in Huai 'an in September 2005, especially since he became the main leader of the municipal government, with a strong sense of responsibility and mission for the development of Huai 'an, he United and led the leading group of the municipal government and the broad masses of cadres and the masses, always adhered to the strategic tasks such as the "five major constructions" put forward by the municipal party committee, vigorously promoted new industrialization, accelerated economic transformation and upgrading, coordinated urban and rural development, effectively guaranteed and improved people's livelihood, and made important contributions to the sound and rapid economic and social development of Huai 'an. Comrade Qu Futian has served in colleges and universities for a long time, with clear thinking, broad vision, high academic level, strong sense of innovation and high level of policy theory. Later, he held important leadership positions in the Agriculture and Industry Office of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. He was familiar with economic work, agricultural and rural work and overall work, with rich leadership experience and strong organizational and coordination skills. (Note: Because of his age, Comrade Xue Kun can no longer be nominated as the mayor candidate, so he retired to the second line and returned to Suzhou Municipal People's Congress as the director. )
