Yongcheng is located in the easternmost part of Henan Province, on the Huaihai Plain, adjacent to Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. Known as the "gateway to the east of Henan", it is the "bridgehead" from the hinterland of the Central Plains to the developed coastal areas. The city covers a total area of 2,000 square kilometers, governs 29 townships, and has a population of10.4 million. It is one of the five key counties and cities in Henan Province and one of the top 100 counties (cities) in China.

Yongcheng is "the land of Han Xing". Mangdang Mountain in the north is the place where Liu Bang, the Emperor Gaozu, cut the snake. There are rich natural and cultural landscapes here, and places of interest are scattered all over the place. Liang Wang Tomb in the Western Han Dynasty is known as "the first stone tomb in the world", and Mangdang Mountain Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic spot.

Yongcheng is the "energy capital". The underground coal-bearing area 1 100 is more than square kilometers, with refined reserves of 3.243 billion tons and prospective reserves of 2 billion tons. It is one of the six anthracite bases in China. China's two major energy companies, Yongmei Group and shenhuo group, ranked 68th and 335th among the top 500 Chinese enterprises respectively. Yongcheng is the "city of flour".

Yongcheng is one of the top 100 grain-producing cities in China. Relying on China's abundant grain resources, flour processing enterprises have sprung up, with an annual processing capacity of 3 billion kilograms. It was awarded the title of "China Flour City" by China Food Industry Association. Yongcheng is an "ecological city".

Yongcheng is located at the intersection of Huaibei alluvial plain and Yellow River alluvial plain. It has a warm temperate semi-humid semi-arid continental monsoon climate and a good living environment. It is the first county-level city in Henan Province to start the construction of eco-city. It has successively won the best investment city of Zhejiang businessmen, the best investment city of Soviet businessmen, the financial eco-city of China, the top 50 small and medium-sized cities with the most investment potential in China, the national livable eco-city and the national happy city.
