Cui Aimin, a talented man, is hungry for the knowledge of carving skills and keeps improving the practice of techniques. When I was a child, I was diligent in thinking, eager to learn, sensitive in observation and hard in training, which laid a solid foundation for my skillful carving. Cui Aimin also showed extraordinary imagination in his childhood, and what he saw and thought in his childhood became the blueprint for later Yi inkstone carving.
As an adult, Cui Aimin began to try to integrate the whimsy of childhood into the hard and cold inkstone. This kind of attempt seems simple, but it is actually difficult, but he is fascinated by it and enjoys it. Everything comes to him who waits, Cui Aimin finally succeeded in vividly displaying scenes on the inkstone beside Yishui River: children's children, flowers, insects, fish, landscapes, birds and animals, all lifelike and beautiful. From the back of this group of successful works, Cui Aimin felt more than relief, but deeply felt the lack of cultural details. As Four Treasures of the Study, inkstone is one of the most direct witnesses of China traditional culture. If we can embody the traditional culture of China on the square inkstone, it will be the finishing touch and give Yi Yan new vitality. So he bent down to study the painting masters of cultural scholars, absorbed nutrition and integrated into sculpture. "Hard carving, hard work", through the unique carving, will show the profoundness of China traditional culture incisively and vividly, and elegance and interest coexist.
