East China Normal University, the first normal university established in New China, was founded in 195 1, referred to as East China Normal University or China Normal University for short. 1959 school was identified by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as one of the national 16 key institutions. 1980 Restore the name of East China Normal University. 1986 was approved by the State Council as one of the 33 institutions of higher learning to set up graduate schools. The campus has a beautiful environment and is known as the most beautiful campus in the Far East.

Now it is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a comprehensive university listed in the National "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", one of the 40 key universities in the "Aid Xinjiang Plan" of the Ministry of Education, and also a national "1Plan" and "Yangtze River Delta University Cooperation".
