"Fayuan Zhu Lin" cloud: "It is easy to become a monk, such as boating in the sea; It is really difficult to cultivate at home, such as sailing on land. " There are many things and obstacles in the world of mortals. It is like a prison, from which all troubles arise. The Buddha said in the Mahayana sutra:

"Being a monk and a bodhisattva is better than being forced at home, such as going to jail. It's hard to become a monk. Idle is idle, idle is idle. If you do nothing, you will be bound to the truth. Make more mistakes at home and make a living without borders. Greedy, never fill the sea ... "

Becoming a monk is a gentleman's behavior, not something that an emperor or general can do.

Some disciples of Buddhism are immature, have families, or can't stand the silence of monks, so they can't become monks all their lives. Therefore, there is a "short-term monk", that is, the term of becoming a monk can be three days, seven days, January, March, half a year, three years and so on. And they can all do it according to their physical and mental abilities. The merits of becoming a monk are higher than sumeru, deeper than the sea, and wider than vanity, which cannot be measured.

2. Conditions for short-term becoming a monk

1.
