In 2000, Lin Ming was responsible for the construction of Runyang Bridge, the longest span suspension bridge in China, and the north anchorage of Nancha Suspension Bridge was known as "the first anchor in China" because of its large volume. The North Anchorage needs to be built in a foundation pit 50 meters deep along the Yangtze River. In the construction of the super project Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Lin Ming did not hesitate to undertake all the engineering responsibilities. The island tunnel project presided over by Lin Ming is the most difficult part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. This is the first marine immersed tunnel built in China, the largest highway immersed tunnel and the only deep-buried immersed tunnel in the world, and there is no mature experience for reference in design and construction.

Settlement amplitude is an important consideration index for the stability of submarine immersed tunnel, and it is also a powerful verification of the accuracy and scientificity of survey and design work. The settlement of similar projects in the world is generally 15-25cm. However, after careful investigation, design and construction by Lin Ming's construction team, the overall settlement of the immersed tube tunnel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is less than 5cm, setting a world record for the deep sea in China.
