The ethnic minorities in Guizhou are Miao, Buyi, Dong, Tujia and Yi.

1, Miao nationality

Miao, an ancient nation, is scattered all over the world, mainly in Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi, Qiong and other provinces in China, as well as Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries and regions in Southeast Asia.

2. Buyi people

Buyi people are mainly distributed in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and other provinces, among which Guizhou has the largest population, accounting for 97% of the national Buyi population. Mainly living in two Buyi and Miao autonomous prefectures in Qiannan and Southwest Guizhou, as well as Anshun, Guiyang and Liupanshui. Tujia people in Hunan Province are mainly distributed in Yongshun, Longshan, Baojing and Guzhang counties in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Cili and Sangzhi counties in Zhangjiajie City and Shimen county in Changde City.

5. Yi people

Yi people are mainly distributed between the plateaus and coastal hills in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, and mainly gather in Chuxiong, Honghe, Liangshan, Bijie, Liupanshui and Anshun. Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is the largest Yi inhabited area in China.
