Recently, we conducted a telephone interview with Mr. Shaofu Dijing, the main sponsor of the project, in view of the problem that Japanese elderly people in China have attracted the attention of domestic online media. With his consent, the interview was made public.
I have witnessed the great process of the older generation of the two countries restoring diplomatic relations between China and Japan and promoting the peaceful development of bilateral relations. The problem of aging is an unavoidable fundamental problem in human development and evolution, and it is also a major strategic issue that restricts social and economic development. At present, the two countries are or will soon face this problem. Whether we can successfully cope with the challenges brought by the aging population is not only related to the well-being of the elderly in both countries.
Colleagues are related to the future of the two countries and even East Asia. In 1990s, Japan put forward the Silver Colombia Plan. At present, it can be seen that the elderly in Japan have established a certain living foundation in Southeast Asia and other countries, which not only effectively alleviated the aging problem in Japan, but also promoted consumption and formed an important source of income for local countries. The successful experience of several years shows that this is a very meaningful national initiative.
