Ma Licheng, born in 1946, used to be the deputy director of the commentary department of China Youth Daily, the editor-in-chief of the commentary department of People's Daily, a commentator on Phoenix TV and a political commentator. Visiting Research Fellow of Tokyo University, Visiting Scholar of National University of Singapore, distinguished professor of Hokkaido University.
