Yangjiachang Town now governs 18 administrative villages and an industrial park. It is an important industrial town in Gongan County and a key township industrial park in Hubei Province. Yangjiachang Town has a flat terrain and fertile land, and it has a unique advantage in developing agriculture. It is rich in agricultural products such as rape, cotton, grain, fruits and vegetables, as well as livestock and poultry products such as pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and eggs. In particular, the pears produced are tender, sweet and moist, which are quite famous in Jingchu.

The town governs 1 neighborhood committee, 17 village committees: Yangjiachang, Jiang Yan, Xinzhou, Wuzhou, Changjiang, Xinjiang, Yuanxing, Qingji, Welfare, Greening, Renhe, Malongtai, Jinghe, Zhong Jing, Qingluo District, Renhe, Hongsheng and Nongfeng. The town government is stationed in Yangjiachang.

1955, Jing (Jiang) and Gong 'an (An) counties merged into Chengguan District; 1958, changed to Changjiang commune; 1987, Yangjiachang Town was established.
