In 796 (the 12th year of Zhenyuan), he was invited to Beijing to assist the chef Sanzang Prajna in translating the Huayan Sutra, which was entered by the South Indian Bird Tea King, and then distributed it to the Vatican. He was responsible for the examination and approval, and it took him two years to translate Hua Yan Jing into forty volumes, which is commonly known as Hua Yan in later generations. After the court ordered him to live in Caotang Temple in Zhong Nanshan, Shaanxi, and wrote ten volumes of Zhen Yuan Xin Jing Hua Yan Jing Shu.
