Industrial oxygen, as its name implies, is a gas used in industrial production and product processing. Low quality requirements, containing carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, acetylene and other impurities harmful to human body. Medical oxygen is used for the rescue and adjuvant treatment of patients. Since 2000, medical oxygen has been included in drug management in China. People's Republic of China (PRC) Pharmacopoeia (2005 edition) stipulated the compulsory national standard of medical oxygen, which stipulated that the concentration of medical oxygen should not be lower than 99.5%. At the same time, harmful gases and impurities such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide must be filtered in the production process, and it is stipulated that oxygen cylinders must be accompanied by medical oxygen certificates.

Obviously, industrial oxygen is an industrial material, while medical oxygen is a medicine to heal the wounded and rescue the dying. It is absolutely not allowed to use industrial oxygen instead of medical oxygen to infuse patients. Previously, there were many reports in the media about industrial oxygen pretending to be medical oxygen. As early as February 2005, some media reported that patients in several centralized oxygen supply hospitals in Zhengzhou were inhaling industrial oxygen. In July 2006, Qilu Evening News reported that a hospital in Jinan used industrial oxygen to treat diseases. Also in July 2006, Sanqin Metropolis Daily reported that a hospital in Ankang used industrial oxygen as medical oxygen to treat diseases. In the end, these hospitals were severely punished by the relevant departments. What's more, on June 1 1 day, 2006, CCTV's Weekly Quality Report reported that Luo Keliang, a citizen of Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, died of respiratory failure after inhaling 34 bottles of industrial oxygen posing as medical oxygen.
