Who is the "Yanqiao Road" in Hefei, Anhui Province to commemorate?
Yanqiao Road in Hefei was named in memory of revolutionary martyrs Chen Yannian and Chen Qiaonian.

Martyrs Chen Yannian and Chen Qiaonian were the eldest son and the second son of Comrade Chen Duxiu respectively. They were born in Anqing. In order to pursue their beliefs, they studied in Shanghai, France and the Soviet Union, and fought in Guangdong, Beijing and Hubei for the cause of communism. 1927, Chen Yannian was arrested in Shanghai at the age of 29.

A year later, Chen Qiaonian died heroically at the age of 26. "Yanqiao Road" is specially named after "Year of Yan and Year of Bridge". Chen Duxiu died and was buried in Jixian Pass in Anqing.

After the TV series "Awakening Times" was launched, some Hefei citizens found that Yanqiao Road was short and Jixian Road was long, and the two roads were parallel. Although they didn't meet, both roads eventually led to the destination not far away-bustling avenue. This touching story is also widely circulated on the Internet.

With the popularity of the TV series The Awakening Age, the stories of Chen Yannian and Chen Qiaonian are well known by more and more people. From June 30th, citizens spontaneously planted national flags, flowers and cards under the road signs of Yanqiao Road.

There is a card in the bouquet, which reads: "Yanqiao Road is short, but it ends in a bustling avenue. This short journey has experienced a hundred years of hard struggle. This prosperous time, as you wish, this prosperous time, we will be your eyes and watch for you. -China people ".
