The principal's duty
The responsibilities of the headmaster vary from country to country. For example, school principals in the United States and Japan are not directly responsible for teaching tasks except for representing the school externally and taking charge of the whole school internally. The Soviet Union emphasized that principals should not only lead and manage, but also directly engage in teaching and education, such as taking part-time classes.
The leadership system of schools at all levels in People's Republic of China (PRC) has changed in different historical periods. Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of China, education has gradually been on the right track. Therefore, it is emphasized that the principal must understand the teaching, education and management of the school. The responsibilities of principals are varied and can be roughly divided into four categories:
(1) Administrative duties;
2 consulting duties;
(3) guiding duties;
(4) research and experimental responsibilities.
With the continuous development of building schools in Socialism with Chinese characteristics, the training, selection, appointment and responsibilities of school principals at all levels in China are also constantly reforming and developing.
