Brief introduction of Chen Yinque, a famous modern writer. How did Chen Yinque die?
Mr. Chen Yinque is one of the most famous scholars in the history of modern literature in China. He is a historian, a classical literature researcher, a linguist, a poet and many other literary identities. More famous scholars praised him for his profound knowledge and being the only one in 300 years. It can be seen that he is a learned master.

Brief introduction of Chen Yinque

1925, the establishment of Tsinghua Institute of Chinese Studies initiated the landmark influence of modern academic research in China. Therefore, modern scientific methods are aimed at sorting out national heritage and cultivating talents of Chinese studies, boldly introducing western learning and building China culture. At the beginning of the establishment of the National Studies Institute, four tutors were hired. The first is Wang Guowei, who has made great achievements in the study of the history of Yin and Shang Dynasties, the second is Liang Qichao, who graduated from the Reform Movement of 1898, the third is Zhao Yuanren, a linguist who returned from Harvard University, and the fourth tutor is Chen Yinke. Although Mr. Chen Yinque's academic reputation was not as good as that of the first three tutors at that time, his talent soon made him famous on the campus of Tsinghua.

A teacher who gives consideration to humor and erudition must be deeply loved by students, and Chen Yinque shows this charm incisively and vividly. In the lecture hall of Tsinghua campus, Chen Yinque called his students, "Nanhai saints pass on their disciples again, and the students of the Qing emperor are all teenagers." What can I say? Because Liang Qichao was a disciple of Kang Youwei, who was known as a saint in the South China Sea, and Wang Guowei was a reading teacher of Puyi, the last emperor in the late Qing Dynasty, the students on the campus in Tsinghua today are different.

Chen Yinque's class is humorous, and his extensive knowledge fascinates students. Even Tsinghua professors come to his class, and everyone calls it a "walking dictionary".

Chen's works

In his later years, Chen Yinque changed from an open school to writing a book and putting his life's knowledge into historical research. But at that time, Chen Yinque's eye disease was almost blind, and the creative conditions were extremely difficult. With the help of his wife Tang Zuo and student Huang Xuan, he read materials to him day and night, transcribed his stories and sorted out tens of thousands of books. The project was extremely huge.

Chen's works

The most difficult period was the Cultural Revolution, when Chen Yinque and his wife Tang Zuo were deliberately made things difficult and tortured by the rebels, but they still did not give up studying history. They only hate that their physical condition is getting worse and worse and their living conditions are bad. Chen Yinque has been engaged in academic research all his life and never stopped writing at the last moment of his life.

Chen Yinque's contribution to the history of Sui and Tang Dynasties in China is indelible. He wrote two world-famous books, A Brief Comment on the Origin of Sui and Tang Dynasties System and A Review on the Political History of Tang Dynasty, through field trips with few reference books. Chen Yinque created his own research model. In the study of the Middle Ages, he paid attention to culture, race and family, and overcame many unavoidable problems for researchers. Chen created a unique historical analysis method to analyze the Sui and Tang dynasties system from the historical elements such as etiquette, official position, criminal law, music and military system, finance and so on. And traced back to the evolution of medieval history from the Han, Wei, Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and made a demonstration discussion on the history of the Tang Dynasty.

Another work of Chen Yinque, Collation of Bai Yuan's Poems, focuses on the poems of Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi. The book consists of eight chapters with about 160,000 words. The book is characterized by using poems to prove history, splitting cocoons and spinning silk, and the more you argue, the more clear you are. Starting with many elements contained in poetry, we can get a glimpse of the real face of the society in the middle Tang Dynasty.

Chen Yinke's evaluation

The History of Cambridge, China has a far-reaching influence in the international sinology circle, and the introduction of Chen in the book is even more mixed. "China historian Chen has made outstanding contributions in explaining the political and institutional history of this period. His views on the political system of the Tang Dynasty are far more pragmatic, rigorous and convincing than any previous views."

Oxford University officially hired Chen Yinque as its professor of sinology, and it took several years to show its sincerity in hiring Chen Yinque. They think that Chen was the best scholar in China at that time, and this understanding has abandoned the differences of national and regional cultures.

Of course, Chen Yinque is not only well-known internationally, but as one of the "Four Great Tutors of Chinese Studies" of Tsinghua Research Institute, many well-known scholars and professors expressed their admiration for Chen Yinque's talent at that time. Liang Qichao, who was also a tutor of Chinese studies at that time, praised Chen Yinque: "Even if I am a writer, I am not as valuable as Mr. Chen's words."

Historian Fu Sinian's evaluation of Chen Yinque can highly evaluate his erudition and versatility, and his talent in the past 300 years is unparalleled.

Chen Yinque's Last Twenty Years

The last 20 years of Chen Yinque was finalized on 1995 and revised for the second time on 20 10. In order to cater to the ideas of the 20th century, many contents have been added. Once published in 1996, it was deserted. At that time, people were too curious about the life of Tsinghua's four great teachers. For China's literary world, this is a disaster. Then, how have these masters of Chinese studies persisted since liberation, and will their thoughts be distorted to some extent? People want to seek answers from this book.

Chen Yinque's Last Twenty Years

Lu Jiandong, the author of this book, based on thousands of volumes of data of Chen Yinque, restored the tragic ending of the next master of Chinese studies in a special period and portrayed a picture of all intellectuals in the early days of liberation. Through the author's pen, we know that Chen Yinque's own strong cultural magnetic field attracted many outstanding intellectuals in that sensitive period and still took him as the benchmark. "Professor among professors" is not a fallacy, but a true portrayal of his rich knowledge and character. Scholars such as Chen, Wu Mi and Liang who appeared in Chen's later years, as well as Huang Xuan, Xian Yuqing and Zhen, failed to gain a solid foundation in academic circles. They were all influenced and edified by Chen's personality, and they all found the guiding light of life in the confused generation at that time.

Therefore, The Last 20 Years of Chen Yinque is not a personal memoir of Chen Yinque, but a cultural injury caused by China's special period. It is a product of the times, a crystallization, which contains the memories and feelings of many scholars recorded by the author, and it is a paradise lost that embodies the spirit of several generations of writers.

Chen Yinque's tomb is located in Lushan Botanical Garden, Jiujiang, Jiangxi. On June 16, 2003, Chen Yinque and his wife, Tang Zuo, moved here. As we all know, Chen Yinque's father and wife died one after another from 1969, but they were buried here four years later, with several twists and turns in the middle.

It turned out that according to Mr. Chen Yinque's last wish, he was buried next to his father Chen's tomb in West Lake, Hangzhou. However, as Chen Yinque died during the Cultural Revolution, it was difficult for his daughter to fulfill her long-cherished wish, so she had to stay at home.

Until the early 1980s, Liu Chen, Chen Yinque's eldest daughter, turned to many old friends for help, hoping to fulfill her father's last wish. Although high-level people helped, Chen Yinque's funeral was delayed again and again, and then organizations such as the National The National SouthWest Associated University Alumni Association also came forward to help, but there was no result. The relevant departments in Hangzhou issued a document saying that it is impossible to build a tomb in the West Lake Scenic Area, and it is hopeless to move the tomb to the West Lake.

Chen Liuqiu wondered that his grandfather Chen had lived in Songshan Songmen Villa for four years. If his father can be buried here, he will forget his wish. However, Songmen Mountain Villa has been included in the World Heritage List, and the landscape is difficult to change, not to mention the emergence of new tombs. At a loss, in 2003, Li Guoqiang, director of Jiangxi Science and Technology Department, went to Lushan Botanical Garden for routine inspection, and talked with Zheng Xiang, then director of the Botanical Garden, about Mr. Chen's life and death. Zheng Xiang immediately replied: "The Botanical Garden is a unit directly under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, so it can be buried."

Coincidentally, after consulting with the Chen sisters, the Botanical Garden regards welcoming and burying the ashes of the Chen couple as the glory of the Botanical Garden. Site selection and construction arrangements to every detail, and finally choose a good time for burial.

I advise you not to talk about Chen Yinque.

As a historian, Chen Yinque's literary level is not well known to the public, but somehow, "Chen Yinque fever" came into being, and a series of books about Chen Yinque's life anecdotes mushroomed all over the public's field of vision. This flood situation is unknown to many literary circles as a blessing or a curse. Some scholars even claimed that Chen Yinque's academic work should not be a topic of conversation after dinner, so it is imperative to ensure the seriousness of high-level academic work. Therefore, the theory of "advise you not to talk about Chen Yinque" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. The meaning of this statement is that in order to achieve certain academic attainments, the literature represented by Chen Yinque should not be regarded as popular culture and talked about by everyone.

I advise you not to talk about Chen Yinque.

Of course, Chen Yinque is not an ordinary cultural person. He, Jin Yong and many other literary creators all serve the mass culture. The scope of his research is ancient, and there are only a few people who are interested. Naturally, there are only a handful of mysteries during the understanding period. Where will he become a household name? He has nothing in common with all the writers who pretend to be gimmicks, even he is different from Qian Zhongshu. Although Mr. Qian is as knowledgeable as Mr. Chen, who combines Chinese and western cultures and is indifferent to fame and fortune, at least Mr. Qian also wrote Fortress Besieged, which was made into a TV series and became the object of mass media. It can also be regarded as leaving the literary detective and moving towards the people-friendly line.

Professor Luo Yu once said: "Chen Yinque should not be a public figure." In the face of everyone talking about Chen Yinque for the sake of artiness, we can only "advise you not to talk about Chen Yinque" as Yi Zhongtian said.
